Handcrafted from a decommissioned wooden boat by local artisans in Java, Indonesia, this cabinet is truly spectacular. It offers exceptional storage with five large  and very deep shelves. Definitely a unique piece for your home!

Decommissioned boats like these became a popular home decor offering throughout the 80s-early 00s. They’ve become increasingly hard to find as the stock of old boats have been used up for various purposes. We were lucky to come across this piece in Jogjakarta on the island of Java in 2020.

While Pak Hayer sources the reclaimed wood from Java, the repurposing of it and production of the furniture takes place north of Ubud, Bali. With years of experience and excellent craftsmanship, it’s safe to say Pak is one smart businessman.
