Chatting with KetuT & Saki

Who else besides your partner helps you in the business and with manufacturing the chandeliers?

Ketut: Saki does most of the work but if we get a big order he will ask a friend named Totok to help.

Where do you find your inspiration for making and designing the products?

Ketut: My husband is very creative and our customers often give us designs to work with.

Where do you get the material you use in creating the beautiful designs, is there a favourite product to make?

Saki: Most of the material comes from Java. Our favourite product to make is the ranting rattan chandelier it challenged me and is complex to make.

Bali is a pretty special place to visit from our perspective what is your favourite part about living there?

Saki: Well I like Bali, it is easier to get a job and have a business and there is more money than back home in Java and my wife is from here!

OWB: Indonesia and Bali in particular have handled Covid relatively well but with the lack of visitors what have been some of the challenges you have faced in the last year?

Ketut: Orders have slowed down a lot and even though we work & live out of our rented home in Andong, our actual home is in Java where Saki is from and we were not able to travel back for Ramadan. We sell product in the shop as well so with no visitors it is hard.

" I will be happy if we keep getting orders! And also if we make enough money to make Bali our permanent home!"
